OPTIMISING SATELLITE PAGING SIGNAL RECEPTION
The GDB Pager is primarily designed to be used outdoors, and can receive messages anywhere on planet earth where there is a clear view of the sky. The high-powered satellite transmissions can also penetrate buildings, partial obstructions and weather phenomenon to reach the GDB Pager.
In some environments, the message signal may be effectively blocked, preventing reception. To optimise reception, carry your pager with the screen facing the body, e.g. in a coat pocket. When indoors, reception can be improved by having your pager with the screen facing down and close to a window with a clear view of the sky. Indoor reception depends on the type of building, the construction materials and location. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that messages will be received indoors. An external antenna, GDB Boost, is available as an optional extra if indoor use is essential. Click here to find out more about GDB Boost.
